It's hard to believe that Chatroulette, the best net art project in history, came out almost exactly ten years ago. There have been a lot of spin-offs since, but it's the original chaotic website that connected you via webcam and microphone to other strangers online. It was terrifying and felt dangerous — you had no idea who what you were going to be connected with next (probably a dick), but it was intoxicating and wild in a way that few websites have been ever since.
It's time to go back. We're all stuck inside our homes with a lot of weird energy, so why not experience a little bit of controlled social chaos without any real bodily risk?
I just logged on for the first time in a decade and lasted about 5 seconds before I got scared and closed the window. But you're braver than me, so try it yourself.
AYO! Let me post Bar Rescue Ep. 20032: Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market Wu Han Markets.
